Frequently asked questions
What is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional therapy is a personalised approach to health that looks at your diet, lifestyle, health history and individual needs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll look at the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and identify practical changes to support your health and wellbeing.
What can nutritional therapy help with?
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of health concerns across the body — including the immune system, male and female hormones, healthy ageing, skin conditions, sleep issues, low energy, weight management, heart disease, sports nutrition, food allergies/intolerances, bone health and diabetes. I have a particular interest in digestive health including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) type symptoms, reflux, or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Do I need a GP referral?
No, you can book directly with me.
Nutritional therapy works alongside your medical care, and I will happily analyse existing GP or private test results. I also review currently taken medications to take into consideration drug nutrient interactions.
Where do the consultations take place?
Online over Microsoft Teams — I will simply send you a link which you can open on your mobile phone, tablet or computer. This enables consultations to be private, cost and travel-free and you can be in the comfort of your own home.
How long are consultations?
Consultations are thorough and we cover all aspects of your health and lifestyle. The initial consultation is the longest and is normally around 90 minutes.
Follow up consultations are around 60 minutes.
What happens during my first consultation?
Before we meet online, I'll ask you to complete a health questionnaire so I can understand your health history, symptoms, diet and lifestyle. During your consultation, we'll explore these in more detail and agree on a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan that's realistic and achievable for you. I will then send you a plan within 48 hours after that.
Will I have to follow a restrictive diet?
I believe food should be nutritious, enjoyable and delicious. My approach isn't about fad diets or unnecessarily cutting out foods; it's about finding a way of eating that supports your individual needs and works in real life.
If you have dislikes, allergies or intolerances to certain foods, then we can discuss alternatives to suit your tastes.
Will I need supplements or laboratory testing?
Not necessarily. My approach is food-first, with supplements or functional laboratory testing considered when appropriate. If I think either may be useful, I'll explain why and discuss the options with you before you decide.
How many consultations will I need?
Everyone is different. Some people may only need a small amount of guidance, while more complex or long-standing health concerns can benefit from the support of a few follow-up consultations. We can discuss what's most appropriate for you during your initial consultation.
What does it cost and include?
Your 15-minute discovery call is completely free, with no obligation.
Nutritional therapy packages start from £380 and include:
- Detailed health and lifestyle questionnaire
- Review of a three-day food diary and GP/private test results (if applicable)
- 90-minute initial consultation
- X2 60-minute follow-up consultations
- Personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans x3
- Supplement recommendations, if appropriate
- Approximately 9 weeks of support
I'll explain the different options during our call so that we can decide which level of support is most suitable for you.
Any recommended laboratory testing or supplements are optional and charged separately.
I'm not sure whether nutritional therapy is right for me. What should I do?
That's exactly what my free discovery call is for. It's a relaxed conversation where you can tell me a little about what's going on, ask questions and find out whether working together feels right for you.
